How do I apply for internships on ClevelandIntern.net?
To access the internships you must first register to obtain a username and password. Students who attend any of our MEMBER SCHOOLS can contact their career services office to register, or establish a free DIRECT MEMBERSHIP account. Students who attend non-member schools (both in and out of the NE Ohio region) must establish a free DIRECT MEMBERSHIP account to access the internship database.
What does it cost?
There is no cost to students to use the system.
How do I qualify?
You must provide a valid school ".edu" email address when you register. ClevelandIntern.net will send all registration instructions and member communications to your school email address.
What is the quality of the internships?
To ensure that students are exposed to high quality and valuable experiential learning opportunities, all postings are screened before being accepted onto ClevelandIntern.net. For instance, 'jobs' such as cashier, receptionist, truck driver, or retail clerk do not qualify as internships for this site.
Will I be paid or unpaid?
Most internships tend to be paid experiences. Hourly rates for ClevelandIntern.net postings generally range from $8.00 to $15.00 per hour, or higher depending on the skill level and other employer requirements. However, some internships, in the non-profit and social services industries for example, may be unpaid.
How do I apply for these internships?
Once you have established membership, you simply follow the application instructions and links that are contained in individual postings to submit your resume (and/or other requried documents) online.
Can I get academic credit or transcript notation for my internship?
Check with your career services office and/or the appropriate faculty member in individual departments about academic credit or transcript notation. Usually, you must register for a particular course in order to receive credit for an internship. A faculty member may have other requirements that you will need to fulfill. For example, a final report or presentation on your assignment, or a detailed evaluation.
